Favour Ashe is a Nigerian sprinter and one of Africa’s leading 100-meter athletes. Known for his explosive speed and consistency, Ashe has represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and World Athletics Relays.

Originally from Ughelli, Nigeria, Ashe attended Otovwodo Grammar School before moving to the United States to compete collegiately. After arriving in America in 2022, he immediately established himself as one of the NCAA’s premier sprinters, earning bronze in the indoor 60 meters and silver in the outdoor 100 meters at the NCAA Championships.

That same year, Ashe broke the 10-second barrier, running a legal 9.99 seconds to win the Nigerian national title. He advanced to the semifinals of the 2022 World Athletics Championships and helped Nigeria earn bronze in the 4×100-meter relay at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Competing for Auburn University, Ashe continued to lower his times, running a personal-best 9.96 seconds at the 2023 NCAA Championships. In 2024, he ran 9.94 seconds and became the first Nigerian sprinter to record five sub-10-second performances across three consecutive years. He finished runner-up in the 100 meters at the 2024 NCAA Championships and represented Nigeria at the Paris Olympic Games, reaching the 100-meter semifinals and competing in the 4×100-meter relay.

In 2026, Ashe returned to the top of Nigerian sprinting. He won the national 100-meter title with a personal-best 9.93 seconds, becoming the Nigerian national champion and reaffirming his place among the country’s elite sprinters. He also represented Nigeria at the World Athletics Relays and won bronze in the 4×100-meter relay at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

With Olympic experience, international medals, and elite sub-10-second speed, Ashe continues to be a key figure in Nigerian sprinting.
